NGO Africa Consultancy Services 

Transform Africa is a UK registered charity and a member of the Transform Network of institutional and community capacity building, research and advocacy organisations in UK and Africa. It was founded in 1998 by a consortium of Northern NGOs comprising CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam and World University Services (WUS). With these NGOs Transform Africa works to carry out instituional and organisation assessments of CSOs in Africa, then focusses on developing the strength of these organisations, empowering them to actively engage with their governments and other institutions to improve the effectiveness of their work.

Relevant consulting work undertaken

  • 1999 - 2001: Lead agency for organisational assessments and capacity building for 30 CSO partners of Christian Aid, Cafod and Oxfam in Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
  • 2002 - 2003: Lead agency for organisational assessments and capacity building for 39 CSOs Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
  • 2001 - 2002: Team leading role for CSO capacity assessment of Christian Aid partners in Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Colombia, India and Palestine.
  • 2002 -2003: CSO capacity assessment for Water Aid partners in Eastern, Southern and West Africa.
  • 2002 - 2003: CSO capacity assessment for Population Concern partners in Africa and Latin America.
  • 2004 - 2005: Lead agency for organisational assessments and capacity building for 52 CSO in Kenya, Rwanda, The Gambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
  • 2005 - 2006: Capacity assessment and building for Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD) and Association for People's Empowerment  (APEM) in Sierra Leone.

Presently Transform Africa has a team of experienced consultants in Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, UK and Zimbabwe.

The CEO of Transform Africa, Charles Kazibwe, is an international consultant with a Masters degree from London School of Economics (LSE) in NGO Management with NGO Policy and Administration, Social Policy, Planning and Participation in Developing Countries. He has vast experience in managing teams of professionals and CSO capacity assessment and building, working in the NGO sector.
