Youth Empowerment
|
The youth population remain one of the most marginalised and disempowered groups in Africa. They are excluded from decision-making, have limited employment opportunities and being often targeted by politicans who exploit them by encouraging them to engage in activities that put their lives at risk. Transform Africa develop and implement programmes that seek to give the youth an opportunity to actively participate in decision-making processes at all levels, by encouraging them to join discussion groups and educating them about their rights, both politically and socially. The most successful of our projects is providing youths with apprenticeship schemes. This provides benefits to the community, since it provides a workforce, and also the youths themselves since they receive training, acquire marketable skills and therefore increase their chances of finding employment.
